South Jersey Gas will be finalizing paving operations between 21st Avenue and 11th Avenue between April 10 and April 20. They will start at 11th Avenue and work towards 21st. Access to houses may be restricted during the milling and paving operations on your street. Most work will be in the alleys so parking on the numbered streets would be better.

The 2017 Longport beach tags have arrived!!! Our preseason sale will commence March 13 from 9 am to 4 pm at the Clerk’s office. Prices have remained the same at $15 for regular adult tag and $5 for Senior (65+) tag.
Veteran tags are FREE if you qualify with proof of service (DD214, County Veteran ID, military ID)
Please be advised that ACTION WILL BE TAKEN at the workshop session scheduled for April 6. Also, the regular public meeting scheduled for April 19 has been changed to April 26 @ 4:30 pm.

Longport is happy to announce our next annual Easter Egg Hunt scheduled for Saturday, April 8. We are looking for volunteers to help set up, fill the Easter eggs and monitor the children during the event. If you would like to help out (which is greatly appreciated) please call Amy @ 823-2731, x100. Thank you in advance!!
2017 ANNUAL BEACH SWEEPS will be conducted April 22 (Spring) and October 21 (Winter).
All volunteers wishing to partake in this event are asked to gather at the Community Center (34th/Atlantic) at 9 am to receive a pair of gloves and bag. You are requested to walk a section of the beach and collect unsightly debris such as plastic bags, trash and any other item that should not be on our beach. The data collected during this event helps find solutions to keep beaches clean and healthy for citizens and marine life and to help create federal, state, and local programs and laws to reduce litter in the environment.

We are pleased to announce that the Borough has achieved Sustainable Jersey Bronze Certification! 198 municipalities participate of which 158 have achieved the BRONZE status and 40 have silver. We are also happy to announce that the Borough was selected to receive the Creativity and Innovation Award for its Plastic Bag Ordinance. We would like to thank our residents and especially our Green Team for the work and effort in helping us attain this achievement.
